Southwind Wrangler celebrated a maiden-breaking win in the opening split for the team of driver Jack Moiseyev and trainer Torgeir Hagmann. Moiseyev sliced out panels of :28.2, :59.2 and 1:29.2 with the son of Windsongs Legacy-Win B, who kicked home in :28.1 when called on for top speed in the stretch. The 1:57.3 performance was more than enough to defeat Adrion Dream and Go Go Red Marty.

In the second division
Stormont Garcon had no problem
delivering on his odds-on pari-mutuel
promise, and in doing so he notched his
eighth lifetime win in as many tries.
The homebred son of Stormont Bronze-Samata, who is owned by Erik Baker of Long Sault, ON, chopped out fractions of :28.2, :59 and 1:28.2 for driver Rick Zeron before scooting home in :28.4 for the 1:57.1 decision. Newport Volo, who was a 1:59.1 winner in the opening leg of the series, was a fast-closing second. Bay Lightning rounded out the top three.
Trained by John MacMillan, Stormont Garcon has stashed away $45,150 in earnings.
The $49,600 final of the Bridger Trotting Series is scheduled for next Thursday evening at Mohawk Racetrack.
