East Rutherford, NJ --- Driver Jody Jamieson found room late in the stretch with Put On A Show and burst along the pylons for a world-record 1:47.3 victory in the $253,700 Lady Liberty for older female pacers Saturday at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
Rebeka Bayama was second and Anndrovette was third. Put On A Show, trained by Chris Ryder, paid $9.00 to win.

Androvette led the field through an opening half of :53.2, with Put On A Show sitting second and Rocklamation third. Favorite Drop The Ball made a first-over attack from fourth place and pulled even with Anndrovette as the field reached the top of the stretch.
As those two mares battled, Jamieson looked for room to his outside before diving inside and guiding Put On A Show to the fastest mile in history for a female Standardbred.
Put On A Show lowered the record of 1:48.1 previously shared by My Little Dragon and Anndrovette.
“I think it’s an amazing accomplishment for her to finally have the world record in her name,” Jamieson said. “It’s the greatest mare to ever look through a bridle. It’s an amazing experience just to get to drive her.
“It felt like Timmy (Tetrick with Anndrovette) was wanting the lead and trying to dictate, just like he did at Mohawk and got the better of us all (in the Roses Are Red Stakes). I just felt like if I was closer to her I would have a better shot. She just did what she does. She’s a world champion mare.”
Put On A Show, a 5-year-old who missed all of last season because of injury, is owned by Craig Henderson and Richard and Joanne Young. She was the Dan Patch Award winner as the sport’s best 3-year-old filly pacer in 2010. She has won 27 of 39 career races and eight of 14 this year. She has earned $2.2 million lifetime.
“We saw some bumps (in the road) in some of the races this year, but we always thought that if she was close enough, that last quarter-mile nobody can do what she does,” Joanne Young said. “She proved it today.

East Rutherford, NJ --- Sarandon Blue Chip and driver David Miller used a steady first-over move to overtake favorite Rockaround Sue on the final turn and cruise to a 1:50.1 win in the $125,000 Thomas D’Altrui SBOA Miss New Jersey on Saturday at the Meadowlands Racetrack.
Mikeleh was second, followed by Pirouette Hanover and Blackjack Princess. Sarandon Blue Chip paid $9.00 to win.
Sarandon Blue Chip is trained by Casie Coleman, who shares ownership of the 3-year-old filly pacer with Tom Hill. She has won three of eight career races, all this year, and earned $159,030.

East Rutherford, NJ --- Jerseylicious (Corey Callahan) won the $268,300 Sweetheart Stake for 2-year-old pacing fillies on Saturday at the Meadowlands Racetrack, wearing down Nikki Beach (Brian Sears) in deep stretch for the win in 1:52.1 for her maiden victory.

UF Dragon's Queen (Andy Miller) was first to the lead at the :26.4 opening quarter, but John Campbell was on the move with Odds On Alpha to get the lead at the three-eighths mile marker. Those two held that lead to the :54.2 half, but Sears had Nikki Beach on the move as they hit that marker and she cleared to the lead.
At the 1:23.2 three-quarters, Nikki Beach was neck and neck with Odds On Alpha going through the final turn, but Jerseylicious was pacing off cover to challenge Nikki Beach for the lead.
Those two paced together down the lane until the final stride, where Jerseylicious poked a nose in front just before the wire.
“I was a little worried in the first turn, she got a little rough on me but I got her gathered up,” said Callahan. “Brian’s the one I wanted to follow all along so it worked out great. She’s got terrific manners, easy to drive and it (the late scratch of #10 Shebestingin) didn’t bother her at all.”

East Rutherford, NJ --- Captaintreacherous took the lead on the backstretch and never looked back, winning the $309,050 Woodrow Wilson for 2-year-old male pacers by 10-1/4 lengths in 1:49.3 on Saturday at the Meadowlands Racetrack. The time was a stakes and track record.
Hail The Taxi finished second and Martini Hanover was third. Captaintreacherous paid $2.60 to win.
Captaintreacherous, who was the 1-5 favorite, is owned by Brittany Farms, Marvin Katz, Joe Sbrocco and White Birch Farm. He has won two of three races for trainer Tony Alagna and driver Tim Tetrick.
“He was very impressive,” Tetrick said. “At the top of the lane I just asked him a little bit and he paced right away from them. He coasted all the way to the wire. He’s a very nice colt. He takes care of himself. He doesn’t know how fast he is going and that’s the best attribute of this colt.”
Western Shooter set the previous track record for a 2-year-old pacer of 1:50 in 2001.
Captaintreacherous is a son of Somebeachsomewhere out of the mare Worldly Treasure. He sold for $250,000 at the Lexington Selected Sale. His mother is a full sister to pacing mare Worldly Beauty, who was a two-time Dan Patch Award winner and earned nearly $2 million lifetime.
“He always showed that he had that little bit extra you look for in a top colt,” Alagna said. “He went through everything so easy and every time you asked him he just found a little bit more. He was just a very professional horse from the get-go.
“I wasn’t (surprised by the time) because I think that highly of this colt. Timmy’s done a great job of managing him for us. I think he’s that kind of horse.”
“The
colt that won went a monster trip,” said Jim Campbell,
trainer of runner-up Hail The Taxi. “Racing for that kind of
money I am very happy to get second.”
