Delaware, OH --- In spite of the arctic blast that slammed Delaware, Ohio with subzero temperatures; the Winter Mixed Sale was among the strongest in the past 12 years.  The Jailhouse Jesse gelding Sand Royal Blu topped the sale at $29,000.  The stakes winning trotter moved from Ty Loy�s barn at Northfield Park to Kurt Sugg�s.

Rene Allard brought a large consignment of quality raceway horses, but it was his broodmare prospect, Majic Trend, that attracted the most attention.  The stakes winning daughter of Kadabra with a mark of 4,1:54.2f and earnings of $191,177 went to Hickory Hollow Farm in Grabil, Indiana for $18,000.  The fancy Somebeachsomewhere gelding, Conors Concord, was purchased from the same consignment for $15,000 by Bruce Soulsby of Ohio.  Bidding was also spirited for the ultra-consistent 12-year-old $12,500 claiming trotter Get Packin that went to Brandon Simpson of New York for $15,000.  Then Rene Allard turned around and purchased the royally bred $15,000 claiming mare Caviart Cara for $17,000 from Gary Evans. 

A number of nice broodmares and early yearlings were sold, led by a Kentucky-bred colt at $15,500. Stacey Ruddick signed the ticket for the son of Northern Kid from the Winterwood Farm consignment.
