Pilot Jim Morand was up behind Googoo Gaagaa in the 'Hubert Jackson Memorial' Maryland Sire Stakes Final, and the duo went on to stop the teletimer at 1.56. The margin of victory was 41 lengths and the gargantuan effort resulted in a new World Record for two-year-old trotting colts on a half-mile track. The previous World Record for the category was 1:56.4 by Live Jazz.
Googoo Gaagaa, sired by pacing stallion Cams Rocket and out of the diagonally-gaited Koras Trotter, is now a perfect six-for-six lifetime.
“GooGoo GaaGaa is an impressive trotter and good gaited with potential to break his own World Record,” Morand said afterward.
“GooGoo GaaGaa is [bringing] sexy back,” states the colt's breeder, owner and trainer Richard Hans, of Westminster, Maryland.
