Handover Belle wins Kentuckiana Stallion Management in 1:56
The Grand Circuit made a stop at Indiana Downs on Wednesday night (August 22) with the $190,800 Kentuckiana Stallion Management trot for 2-year-old fillies.
John Carver and Howard Taylor's homebred Handover Belle posted her second win in three lifetime starts, scoring in a personal best time of 1:56. Mike Lachance was in the bike for trainer Tony Alagana as the Andover Hall-Harbour Belle miss improved her lifetime earnings to $102,900 with the victory.
Money And Me and driver Peter Wrenn cut the fractions in this race, taking the field to the quarter in :28.2, the half in :57.2 and the three-quarters in 1:26.
Lachance had Handover Belle in third for most of the mile, before beginning a first over charge at the three-quarter station. The winner took over the lead at the top of the stretch and then drew away, trotting her final quarter in :29.2.
Heavily favored Frau Blucher (Brian Sears) overcame a break at the start to finish second, 1-3/4 lengths behind the winner, while Changed It All (Tyler Smith) earned the show dough. Online Exclusive (Trace Tetrick) was fourth and Money And Me faded to fifth.
The victory was the second stragiht for Handover Belle, won last raced on August 2 when she won a $10,000 Kindergarten Series event at Meadowlands
