Mistery Woman made what was only her second career
start an impressive one, setting a stakes, track and
national season’s record of 1:57.2 in the $53,150
Standardbred for 2-year-old filly trotters at the
Delaware County (Ohio) Fair on Wednesday afternoon
(Sept. 19).
Reserved off the tempo
in the early going, the lead changed hands going
into the final turn when the favored Andie Sophia
(Peter Wrenn) took over from Money And Me (Dave
Palone), who made a break after having taken the
field to the three-quarters in 1:27.1.
It appeared that Andie Sophia would
jog from there, but the winner came up on the
outside and then drew out to an estimated 1-1/2
length victory over another closer, UF Tadys Donato
(Yannick Gingras). Andie Sophia finished third, just
ahead of Ladyfinger (Chip Noble).
The winner is owned by Misty Miller,
wife of the winning driver, and W.J. Donovan,
Aldebaran Park and Millstream, Inc. and was bred by
Lindy Racing Stable of Connecticut.
The daughter of Donato Hanover and
the Pine Chip mare My Dolly’s Dream, who was a
$102,000 yearling at the Lexington Selected Sale
last year, is trained by Jonas Czernyson, who sent
her out to a 1:55.4 victory at the Red Mile in her
career debut on Sept. 13.
"She's had a few problems and we
didn't think she was going to make it (to the races
this year)," said David Miller. "She seems real
solid gaited; she had no problems today.
"We liked her at the sale; it's
paying off so far."
